San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey made a remarkable scoring streak of scoring a touchdown for the 14th consecutive game. This time, it happened on a one-yard run in the second quarter of Sunday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, giving the 49ers a 21-7 lead at the break.

McCaffrey’s record is now indelible in the annals of the team, surpassing even Jerry Rice’s remarkable 12-game touchdown streak, which included appearances in the playoffs. It is the longest active stretch in the NFL. 

According to 49ers Communications, McCaffrey’s achievement matches that of retired NFL running back Emmitt Smith for the most straight games with a touchdown (including playoffs) since at least 1990.

The Carolina Panthers selected Christian McCaffrey eighth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft, and he quickly established himself as one of the league’s most explosive athletes. In both 2018 and 2019, his outstanding performance earned him selection to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams. McCaffrey accomplished 1,000 running yards and 1,000 receiving yards in a single season in 2019, becoming just the third player in NFL history to do it.

Despite being limited by injuries after being traded to the 49ers in 2022, McCaffrey showed flashes of his extraordinary potential when playing.
