The%20CBI%20Court%u2019s%20decision%20to%20acquit%20all%20the%20accused%20in%20the%20Babri%20Masjid%20demolition%20case%20should%20not%20come%20as%20a%20surprise%20at%20all.%20It%20is%20in%20keeping%20with%20the%20country%u2019s%20premier%20investigating%20agency%u2019s%20abysmal%20track%20record%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20prosecuting%20the%20accused.%20It%20is%20also%20in%20keeping%20with%20what%20the%20Apex%20Court%u2019s%20observation%2C%20made%20in%20another%20context%2C%20but%20true%20nonetheless%2C%20that%20the%20CBI%20has%20a%20very%20poor%20track%20record%20when%20it%20comes%20to%20prosecuting%20the%20powerful.
There%20are%20many%20who%20will%20be%20surprised%20at%20the%20conclusion%20reached%20by%20the%20CBI%20Special%20Court%20judge%2C%20that%20the%20demolition%20of%20the%20Babri%20Masjid%20was%20not%20planned%2C%20this%20after%20the%20Supreme%20Court%27s%20observation%20while%20delivering%20its%20judgement%20in%20the%20title%20suit%20that%20the%20demolition%20was%20a%20%u201Cviolation%20of%20the%20law%u201D.%20However%20the%20other%20observations%20made%20by%20the%20judge%2C%20that%20there%20was%20not%20enough%20evidence%20against%20the%20accused%2C%20the%20authenticity%20of%20the%20audio%20and%20video%20provided%20by%20the%20CBI%20could%20not%20be%20proved%20and%20that%20the%20audio%20of%20the%20speeches%20made%20were%20not%20clear.

Today%u2019s%20verdict%20has%20put%20its%20legal%20imprint%20on%20not%20just%20the%20temple%20at%20Ayodhya%20but%20also%20provided%20a%20clean%20chit%20to%20the%20accused.%20What%20is%20now%20left%20is%20an%20academic%20debate%20on%20the%20merits%20or%20the%20lack%20of%20the%20judgement.%20It%20will%20also%20bring%20closure%20to%20the%20decades-long%20legal%20battle%20that%20has%20ensued%20on%20the%20contentious%20issue.%20Whether%20today%u2019s%20judgement%20will%20indeed%20bring%20closure%20to%20and%20heal%20the%20emotional%20divide%20that%20has%20come%20to%20exist%20between%20communities%20in%20the%20country%20is%20something%20that%20all%20community%20leaders%20and%20politicians%20must%20thrive%20to%20achieve.

Special%20Judge%20S%20K%20Yadav%u2019s%20acquittal%20of%20the%20accused%20should%20also%20now%20put%20an%20end%20to%20the%20long%20and%20tedious%20legal%20process%20related%20to%20this%20case.%20Had%20Mr%20Advani%2C%20M%20M%20Joshi%20and%20their%20co-accused%20been%20convicted%2C%20they%20would%20surely%20have%20gone%20into%20an%20appeal%20to%20a%20higher%20court.%20Since%20this%20was%20a%20case%20filed%20by%20the%20police%2C%20it%20is%20highly%20unlikely%20that%20will%20now%20go%20in%20for%20an%20appeal.
