Adrian Dingle, the former player with San Diego Chargers in the National Football League (NFL), died on Tuesday, November 8. His death was confirmed by Clemson University in a statement on Thursday. A Clemson alumni and standout, Dingle was 45 years old when he died.
“Dingle came to Clemson in 1995 as a freshman out of Roberts High School in Holly Hill, S.C., where he teamed with former Clemson basketball player Harold Jamison to give Holly Hill Roberts one of the top defenses in the state,” the statement from Clemson said.

“Dingle lettered at Clemson in 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1998 and served as a starting defensive end in each of his last three seasons. He helped the Tigers to three bowl games over his career.”
The cause of the footballer’s death has not yet been made public.

A one-team man, Adrian Dingle spent his entire NFL career playing for the San Diego Chargers as a Defensive Eds. After a remarkable playing career with the Clemson Tigers, the Clemson University football team, Dingle was drafted by the Chargers in the 1999 NFL Draft.
Although the Chargers drafted him in 1999, he missed the rookie due to an injury and went on to debut for them only in the next season. He finished his career in 2005 with 95 tackles, 14.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception.

His career with the Clemson Tigers was summed up by the statement the university released on his death. It said: “Overall, Dingle played in 46 games for the Tigers, including 34 games as a starter. He started all 12 games in 1996 as a sophomore when he had a career-high 68 tackles and 14 tackles for loss, six of which were sacks. In 1997, he missed a game due to injury but finished with 48 tackles, including 10 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.”
