Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a concussion in Game 5 vs the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. He was taken off in a wheelchair.

Davis was hit on his head by an inadvertent forearm shot from Kevon Looney in the fourth quarter. The Lakers eventually lost 106-121 at the Chase Center.

After being hit, the 30-year-old went to the bench and sat down with his head in his hands. He was in pain. However, the Lakers star was taken to the locker room and did not return.

TNT’s Chris Haynes reported that Anthony Davis was escorted from the locker room in a wheelchair for further evaluation. Los Angeles coach Darvin Ham told him after the game that Davis appeared to be doing well.

The play, where Davis got hit, happened when his teammate D’Angelo Russell drove to the basket and made a layup. Anthony Davis was trying to lock out Looney, who accidentally hit the Lakers star on the side of his head.

“Sources tell ESPN Anthony Davis might not make a return game 6 to a minor concussion” a Twitter user said.

“Darvin Ham on Anthony Davis: “He took a shot to the head. He seems to be doing really good already. That’s where he’s at and the status of it right now.” another one added.

“Crazy part is Looney suffers no penalty for recklessly swinging his fucking elbows like he’s not a coordinated professional athlete. No flagrant. No foul. No suspension. Just likely a front line with no Anthony Davis. Didn’t he black Sabonis’ eye last series? Fuckin goofy,” a third one tweeted.

“Honestly, I think the pressure’s on them to protect their home court,” Golden State star Steph Curry said during a postgame interview with TNT. “We had pressure tonight to keep ourselves alive with our back against the wall and now it shifts.”

Game 6 of the series will take place on Friday at 7 PM at Los Angeles’ Crypto Arena. If the Warriors manage to win and force a Game 7, it will be Sunday at 12:30 PM in San Francisco.
