The Antony transfer saga has seemingly come to an end with Ajax agreeing to a €100 million fee deal with Manchester United, Fabrizio Romano reported. The contract, which is expected to be signed tomorrow, will be till 2027 with the option to extend to 2028.

Junior Pedroso, Antony’s agent put up Romano’s iconic “Here we go” on his Instagram story, seemingly confirming the Brazilian’s move to United.

Antony is expected to be in Manchester United next week and will join former Ajax players Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen

United have long been trying to get the winger who’s become one of Europe’s hottest prospects after his performance in the last Champions League. However, Ajax played hardball, and the Premier League side was forced to raise their initial €60 million offer. The Dutch club kept turning down deals, most recently rejecting 80 and 90 million deals from the Reds. However, Antony remained fixated on a move and started protesting – refusing to train with his teammates and missing out on a recent fixture as well.

Ajax’s point of contention has been that Antony will be hard to replace with five days to go before the transfer window closes. However, the 22-year-old from the favelas of Brazil, who began in Sao Paolo, told Fabrizio Romano in an exclusive interview “I hope Ajax fans understand me… because the future for a football player is a totally uncertain thing and the opportunities can be unique!”. He added that he loved playing for the Dutch side, saying “My message is one of gratitude for Ajax, club and fans”.

Antony will again be under former Ajax coach Erik ten Hag, who’s been pushing for the Brazilian, and the left-footed winger will be United’s go-to person given their usual choice, Jadon Sancho, isn’t too consistent in his performances.
