Glamour and IPL go hand-in-hand and for IPL auction 2021 the baton seems to have passed on to star kids with famous names. In the past, Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty have upped the glamour quotient at IPL auctions and tournaments.
On Thursday, in Chennai, the limelight was on the famous Khan son, Aryan Khan and Juhi Chawla’s daughter Jahnavi Mehta, both representing the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). SRK’s son, Aryan, has often been seen at IPL matches but this is the first time he has been seen at an IPL auction.
Aryan attended London’s Sevenoaks School, and is pursuing a course in filmmaking at University of Southern California. The 23-year-old also did the voice over for Simba’s character in the Hindi rendition of Disney’s The Lion King, while his father SRK dubbed for Mufasa.
Jahnavi, 19, has also studied abroad and her mother Juhi has often tweeted about her daughter’s academic performances.
While cameras repeatedly panned on these youngsters , another new attraction was at the Sunrisers Hyderabad table. Sitting next to mentor VVS Laxman, Muttiah Muralitharan and coach Trevor Bayliss was a woman with another famous last name — Maran. Kaviya, 27, daughter of SRH owner Kalanithi Maran is also a cricket lover and also dabbles in SUN music and FM channels of SUN TV. Sun is the largest media group in Tamil Nadu.
Kalanithi Mara is the son of former DMK leader Murasoli Maran, who was the nephew of Tamil Nadu political stalwart M Karunanidhi.
Kaviya, who has an MBA degree, has also been spotted at IPL matches in support of SRH.
