Commonwealth Games‘ (CWG) sixth day has some important events lined up for Indian athletes. Day 5 saw a number of Indians winning medals at the multi-sport event being held in Birmingham.

Vikas Thakur managed to grab silver in the 96kg weightlifting event for men. In lawn bowling, the women’s fours team won gold after defeating South Africa, giving India its first-ever medal in the event in CWG history. India also won gold in the men’s badminton event after defeating Singapore 3-1. The mixed badminton team, however, were defeated by the Malaysian team in the final, taking home silver.

Here’s a list of all events Indians will be seen in on Day 6:

Squash: In the Round of 32 squash mixed doubles encounter, India and neighbours Sri Lanka are set to square off (3:30 PM). 

Hockey: On Wednesday, Indian women’s hockey team will face off against Canada in their Pool A match at 3:30 PM. Indian men’s team will also be up against the Pool B Canadian counterparts at 6:30 PM.

Weightlifting: Purnima Pandey will be in action in the Women’s 87kg weightlifting category. Lovepreet Singh will contest the Men’s 109kg category.

Lawn Bowls: India has three law bowling events lined up for the day- India vs. Nuie in women’s triples (7:30 PM); Mridul Borgohain in men’s singles (1 PM and 4 PM); and India vs. Nuie again in women’s doubles (1 PM and 4 PM).

Cricket: The women in blue will be in action as well, squaring off against Barbados at 10:30 PM after their win against Pakistan on Sunday.

Boxing: In boxing, the 48-50 kg light flyweight quarterfinals will see Nikhat Zahreen, the gold medallist at 2022 IBA Women’s World Boxing Championships, in action (11:15 PM). Ashish Kumar will also compete in the 75-80 kg light heavyweight quarter-finals (2:00 AM). Nitu Ganghas will be seen in the 45kg-48 kg (minimum weight) quarterfinals  (4.45 PM).

Men’s 54-57 kg featherweight quarterfinals will see Hussam Uddin Mohammed in action (5:45PM). Lovlina Borgohain will compete in the 66-70 kg light middleweight quarter-finals at 12:45 am (Aug 4).

Judo: At 2:30 PM, Tulika Mann will compete in the Women’s 78kg quarter-finals and Deepak Deswal will compete in the Men’s 100kg elimination round of 16.

Athletics: Women’s Shot Put final will see Manpreet Kaur in action at 12:35 AM (Aug 4)
