DeAndre Hopkins, wide receiver of the Cardinals, was seen calming quarterback Kyler Murray down after the 25-year-old was fuming at coach Kliff Kingsbury. Arizona hosted the New Orleans Saints at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Thursday night.
Kyler Murray got into a heated argument with Kingsbury with about 2:32 left in the second quarter. Hopkins came in, put his arm around the quarterback and calmed him down.

“Hopkins is carrying Murray this game. And too be honest, I’ve been pissed with Kyler are year! He’s been below average,” a Twitter user said.

Arizona Cardinals has only two interceptions coming into the game vs New Orleans. On Thursday, they had three. Kyler Murray passed for 96 yards and rushed 27 in five attempts.

Returning superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was barely involved in the first few drives for the Cardinals, two of which resulted in field goals, but yielded no touchdowns. He expressed his frustration by throwing up his hands in the game during their third drive.

This was followed by a long and passionate conversation between Hopkins and quarterback Kyler Murray. In the ensuing drive, Hopkins was heavily involved. He took full advantage of the Saints’ green corners in the absence of star defender Marshawn Lattimore, gaining chunk yards and drawing several defensive penalties. The result, was a touchdown and successful two-point conversion for the Arizona Cardinals.
