Detroit Lions kicker Riley Patterson made a 31-yard field goal while playing against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football.

Prior to this field goal, he opened the tally for the Lions with a 44-yard field goal. Currently, the game stands at 6-0 in favor of the Lions.
Placekicker Riley Patterson is an American football player who plays in the NFL for the Detroit Lions. He was a four-star high school recruit from Edwardsville, Illinois, and in 2017 he was named the Gatorade Football Player of the Year for Illinois.

After deciding to play collegiate football at Memphis, Patterson was a standout placekicker for four years. His remarkable statistics include 227 extra points from 229 attempts (a success rate of 99.1%) and 79 field goals made out of 92 attempts (a success rate of 85.9%). In both 2019 and 2020, Patterson was selected to the American Athletic Conference First Team All-Conference.
He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021, but an injury forced him to be placed on injured reserve. After that, he received an injury payout and was freed. After that, in May 2022, Patterson signed a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, where he made an outstanding debut in the opening week of 2022.

He set an amazing record for the 2022 season with 36 field goals made out of 42 attempts (an 85.7% success rate) and a flawless 54 extra points made out of 54 attempts (100% success rate). Following his adventure, Patterson signed a contract with the Detroit Lions in March 2023, where he plays placekicker for the group.
Patterson is a very skilled and accurate placekicker who is well-known for his strong leg, which allows him to convert field goals from a significant distance. His consistency in scoring extra points increases the value of his addition to any NFL squad.
