As the NFL’s trade deadline approaches on Tuesday, Ryan Tannehill’s name has emerged as a key topic of debate in potential trades.

The NFL trade deadline for 2023 is set for 3 p.m. on Tuesday. While the Tennessee Titans (3-4) already made a substantial move by trading All-Pro safety Kevin Byard to the Philadelphia Eagles last week, they may explore making a larger move, especially given the present situation of the quarterback market. Following rookie Will Levis’ excellent debut of 238 yards and four touchdowns, Tannehill might be an appealing commodity for a team looking to increase its draft capital for 2024.

When questioned about Tannehill’s potential as a trade asset, Titans coach Mike Vrabel said on Monday that he doesn’t know if the team has received any trade requests regarding him yet. Nonetheless, he stated his willingness to consider any deals including players who can help both now and in the future.

“If (general manager Ran Carthon) informs me that there’s been interest, we’ll discuss the player in question, the offer, and make a decision,” Vrabel went on to say. “Does (Levi’s performance) influence our willingness to listen?” I believe we owe it to the team to take any queries seriously, regardless of the player, individual, or position. We want to make certain that we are operating in the best interests of the football squad.”

Tannehill missed the game on Sunday due to a sprained ankle. Tannehill did not participate in team workouts on Monday, but Vrabel would not rule out his return before the Titans’ game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday.

He did not, however, instantly declare Tannehill as the starting quarterback once he is fully recovered.

In addition to Levis and Tannehill, the Titans have second-year quarterback Malik Willis on the roster. Willis has appeared in three games this season and made three starts last year, but he has struggled to generate consistent high-level performances as a passer.
