Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent scored a rushing touchdown while playing against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

The rookie opened the game for the Bears in the absence of Justin Fields due to injury. This is the second straight game for Bagent. He has impressed everyone with his gameplay and accuracy on the field.

Despite losing the match to the Chargers by 30-13. Bagent had a decent game. The rookie quarterback made an incredible 41-yard pass on the first play of the game against the Chargers. But the offense could not muster any momentum for the rest of the game.

Throughout the game, Bagent completed 10 of 15 throws for 121 yards. He did throw an interception because of a miscommunication between receivers D.J. Moore and Darnell Mooney. This resulted in the ball landing well short of Mooney. The Bears’ lone touchdown was set up by an incredible 11-yard rush by Darrynton Evans, who had only one carry in the half. The Chargers were content to watch as they preserved their 17-point lead after an incredible seven minutes and three-second drive.

Bagent is a promising rookie quarterback in the NFL 2023. During his collegiate career, he set numerous quarterback records with the Shepherd Rams, creating an indelible mark.

After an impressive run in his college career, he was awarded the Hardman Award, the Harlon Hill Trophy, and the DII Offensive Player of the Year title by various publications in 2021.

He was able to negotiate a free-agent contract with the Chicago Bears despite being undrafted in the NFL Draft of 2023. He made his NFL debut against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7 of the 2023 season. He was given the starting role in Week 8.
