The longest winning run against a single team in the NFL was snapped on Sunday when the Denver Broncos defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 24-9 at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver.

Singer Taylor Swift did not show up for the Chiefs’ road game against the Broncos. The superstar is scheduled to continue her Eras Tour in Argentina on November 9.

Ever since it was speculated that Swift and Kelce would start dating early in the 2023 NFL season, everyone’s attention has been on whether Swift will be present to watch Kelce play. Swift attended four of the previous Kansas City games, all of which ended in victories. When the Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers last week, she made her final appearance.

Tight end Travis Kelce underperformed compared to expectations while playing against the Denver Broncos on Sunday in the absence of Taylor Swift.

The game presenters pointed out that Kelce’s six receptions for 58 yards were less than in prior weeks. A visual that CBS broadcast before the Chiefs’ game against the Los Angeles Rams just last week indicated that some of Kelce’s best moments of the 2023 season occurred when Swift was supporting him from the VIP box above.

A variant of the identical image was seen on CBS Sports on Sunday. When Swift was present Kelce scored 108 yards and that figure dropped to 46.5 in her absence.

Although it’s too soon to make a clear connection between Swift’s attendance and Kelce’s marked decline in performance. But it’s important to remember that the Chiefs were unbeaten when Swift was present (4-0 when she did, 2-2 when she did not), and Kelce alone recorded 432 receiving yards when she was present as opposed to 151 when she was not.
