Eoin Morgan, 35, made his international debut for his native country, Ireland, in 2006, and has represented England since 2009, breaking into the team in all three forms. Morgan has recently played ODIs and T20Is, although his last Test participation was in 2012.

Later, the left-handed middle-order batsman went on to lead the side in limited-overs forms, first in 2011 and then during the 2015 World Cup, when England exited the tournament early, placing fifth in Pool A behind Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Since then, England’s approach to the 50-over game has changed, and Morgan, seen as one of the men behind England’s One Day International revolution, has backed it up by leading the country to their first-ever ODI World Cup victory in 2019.

Morgan is the only hitter in history to have scored multiple ODI hundreds for both Ireland and England. He has also played in World Cups for both England and Ireland, having made his debut with Ireland in 2007.

Morgan has also led the Indian Premier League (IPL) team Kolkata Knight Riders, leading the Kolkata-based franchise to the finals in the 2021 season. Morgan also has the same number of T20 matches as former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
