Europe is in a royal blue tint after nine long years as Chelsea are once again the winners of the UEFA Champions League after defeating Manchester City 1-0 in Saturday’s final in Porto, Portugal.
Giving their squad depth and their rich vein of form in the league, City were touted to be the favourites, however, Thomas Tuchel and his men were more than ready for the uphill task.
Soon after the final whistle, thanks to the only goal from Kai Havertz, fans of the London club across the globe took to social media to celebrate their long-awaited victory. In recent years, Chelsea had struggled in Europe’s premier competition, however, Tuchel led the path to a historic achievement.
Although football is a team affair, on their day, certain players have the ability to hog all the limelight with their incredible display and N’golo Kante is certainly one of them. His ability to link Chelsea’s defense with the attack and chipping in with important interceptions at the middle of the park, allowed Chelsea to keep things in control.

Fans couldn’t stop singing praises about the ever-smiling French midfielder.

Tuchel signed for Chelsea in January this year, after Lampard was sacked from the job. Last year, the German manager managed to reach the final with Paris Saint-Germain, however, he tripped at the final hurdle after being bettered by Bayern Munich. Soon Tuchel lost his job.
But only if he knew he was going to conquer the elusive trophy the very next season. Now he does! “Redemption Accomplished.”
Praises poured in for Chelsea’s skipper and long-standing warrior Cesar Azpilicueta, who did make a pivotal interception in the game.

But not all supporters were ready to offer City a warm hug. Some joked about how Pep Guardiola massively miscalculated his tactics in the final while some accused the Spaniard of being incapable of winning the European title without Lionel Messi.
Amid the celebrations, Chelsea fans also took a dig at their noisy neighbours Arsenal, who are yet to win a Champions League title themselves.
