As Argentina and the Netherlands get ready to clash tonight, a video of two of the most iconic players from both sides, Diego Maradona and Johan Cruyff, has gone viral on Twitter. In the video we see Maradona walking down an aisle at a football match, only for Cruyff to tap him on the shoulder. Maradona looks back and is surprised to see the Dutch legend. They proceed to share a warm hug and shake hands, after which the 1986 World Cup winner goes his way.

Maradona and Cruyff have both played for Barcelona. The Argentine played for the Catalan side from 1982 to 1984. He had signed for the side for a then-world record fee of £5 million ($7.6 million). His stint in Spain was not as glorious as his record with the national side or Napoli.

Cruyff, on the other hand, is widely considered the greatest Barcelona player after Lionel Messi, Maradona’s compatriot. He played for the Blaugrana from 1973 to 1978. With the Dutch maestro in their lineup, Barcelona were able to win the La Liga after a wait of 14 years.

On the international stage, Maradona has been more successful than the legendary Dutchman. He led his team to victory in the competition in Mexico in 1986, and took them to the final once again in 1990.

Cruyff’s World Cup career reached its peak in 1974, when he led the Netherlands to the final. Total Football, a philosophy preached and embraced by Cruyff, flourished at the tournament, and the Dutch played in style to reach the final against West Germany. However, they were trumped by the Franz Beckenbauer-led side.
