India will
aim for a second consecutive home series clean sweep against the West Indies when the
two face each other in the third and final T20I at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on
Sunday. India have bounced back from the disappointing tour of South Africa in
style, clinching its maiden ODI series whitewash against the Caribbean side
before securing the T20I series with wins in the first two matches.

With the
BCCI giving Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant a much-needed break from the bio-bubble
in Kolkata to manage their workload and the series already wrapped up, skipper
Rohit Sharma will look to make a few tweaks and test the depth of his squad
ahead of a three-match series against Sri Lanka.

Ishan’s struggles

Ishan Kishan has struggled for form since being asked to replace KL Rahul at the top of the order, scoring a sluggish 35 in the first T20I before being dismissed for 2 on Friday and might be replaced with Ruturaj Gaikwad as the opener.

However, Sharma has backed the 23-year-old to find form soon and given he can keep the wickets as well, might be included with Gaikwad playing at number 2 or 3.

Avesh Khan, Mohammed Siraj to be included?

While Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel have impressed in the absence of India’s frontline pace duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, Sharma has options in Avesh Khan and Mohammed Siraj.
