David Alaba and Rodrygo, two key Real Madrid players, were injured early in the team’s Champions League clash against Liverpool earlier this month. The Bernabeu side will host Barcelona for the El Clasico game, Copa del Rey semifinal, on Thursday.

Alaba, playing left-back in the Liverpool game, struggled vs Mohamed Salah and Jordan Henderson’s pace. He eventually went down after a scramble in the box. The Austrian did not play in the Madrid derby against Atletico with a right hamstring injury and is expected to miss action for at least a month.

Rodrygo was taken off in the 81st minute. He suffered an injury to the left piriformis muscle and should have been out for not more than 10 days. This means that the forward could play against Barcelona.
