Royal Challengers Bangalore added Aaron Finch in their prolific batting line-up hoping to see the Australian captain resolve a long-standing opening issue. After having scored only 49 runs in two games at close to run a ball, Finch decided to repay the franchise’s trust in his abilities by smacking the Mumbai bowlers all over the Dubai International Stadium.

Aaron Finch scored a half century in 31 balls against Mumbai Indians . The innings could be summarised by the quite lofted shots that took off Finch’s bat making the fielders do the running on the big ground.

Picking Krunal Pandya for a four over covers, throwing Rahul Chahar out of the park and dominating the likes of Trent Boult and James Pattinson, Aaron Finch laid a strong foundation for Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to capitalise on. Trent Boult dismissed Aaron Finch for 52.

This was Aaron Finch’s 14th IPL fifty. He has played for 8 IPL sides including Gujrat Lions, Pune Warriors Indians and Mumbai Indians, struggling every time a side wanted him to deliver. However at Royal Challengers Bangalore, Finch looks settled in the star batting line-up

Infact, it was the 33-year-old’s high strike rate that took pressure off young Devdutt Padikkal who is playing his third innings of the Indian Premier League.

RCB reached the 59 run mark after the powerplay.
