Mumbai Indians had a cause to celebrate after their dominating
performance against the Rajasthan Royals in the latest edition of the Indian
Premier League (IPL). The team led by Indian opener Rohit Sharma defeated Sanju
Samson’s side in style by chasing a low total of 90 runs in just 8.2 overs.
The men in blue posted a behind the scenes video from one of
their sessions off the field on their official Instagram handle. One of the
stars of the previous match, New Zealand’s all – rounder Jimmy Neesham can be
seen throwing a basketball into the net while standing over 30 yards away from
the target.
His accuracy was on display in the previous match as well
when he bowled out Rajasthan’s exciting young prospect Shivam Dube while he
was batting on three runs.

Neesham surprised his teammates as well as the Mumbai Paltan
(fans of the Mumbai Indians) with his basketball skills.
Ishan Kishan who seemed to find his form in the previous
fixture after a disappointing IPL season is seen screaming his lungs out in
excitement and hugging the Kiwi all-rounder.
The post was captioned, “These are the kind
of things you tell your friends and they be like: Kya fekta hain bey… But we got proof on camera,”

The post which was uploaded ten
hours ago is just shy of 600,000 views. It seems like Jimmy ‘throwsham’ could
have fancied a career in basketball as well if things hadn’t worked out in
cricket.
The match against Rajasthan Royals was
Neesham’s first appearance for the franchise and popular opinion is that he has
done more than enough to earn his second cap for the team in their next fixture.
He took three wickets while giving away just 12 runs in four
overs at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

While Mumbai displayed a brilliant performance in their
last fixture, the defending champions have been far from their best form.
Their
qualification in the top four is no longer in their own hands and depends upon
the result of Kolkata Knight Riders’ next fixture.
Will Mumbai Indians qualify for the playoffs this season?
