New England Patriots defensive back Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport Friday night. Two firearms were found in his luggage.

The 25-year-old faces several charges including carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of a large-capacity feeding device. He was booked at the State Police-Logan Airport Barracks. Bail was set at $50,000. He will be arraigned in East Boston District Court.

In a statement, the Patriots said: “We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today. We are in the process of gathering more information and will not be commenting further at this time.”

If Jones is found guilty and is charged after the arraignment next week, it is likely that the New England Patriots will suspend him for some time.

Massachusetts State Police said that it does not confirm the employment of people it arrests. However, they did release the name as 25-year-old Jackie K. Jones of Arizona. The Patriots confirmed he is their player.

“We have been notified that Jack Jones was arrested at Logan Airport earlier today,” spokesperson Stacey James said in a statement, as per media reports.

Jones was one of the many players who commented on Ja Morant’s gun video.

“@JaMorant dumb … you letting social media and yo pride ruin yo real money,” Jones tweeted. “Put them guns down and run that money up. Make one of yo homie sign up for security or concealed carry if you need it that bad.. but you the bread winner you gotta start acting like it.”

Memphis Grizzlies guard Morant has been suspended for 25 games by the NBA. He flashed a gun, for the second time, in an Instagram live.

“Ja Morant’s decision to once again wield a firearm on social media is alarming and disconcerting given his similar conduct in March for which he was already suspended eight games,” Adam Silver said.

“The potential for other young people to emulate Ja’s conduct is particularly concerning. Under these circumstances, we believe a suspension of 25 games is appropriate and makes clear that engaging in reckless and irresponsible behavior with guns will not be tolerated.”
