The Los Angeles Lakers and forward Jarred Vanderbilt have agreed to terms on a four-year, $48 million contract extension. This contract has complete guarantees and a player option in the last year of the agreement, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

During the trade deadline of the previous season, the Los Angeles Lakers acquired Jarred Vanderbilt from the Utah Jazz as part of their efforts to restructure their squad.

Contract details-

The Lakers have now long-term renewed the forward’s deal after initially exercising his $4.7 million team option for the 2023–24 season. Following the deal, Vanderbilt started 24 of LA’s 26 regular-season games, and he also started 13 of the team’s 15 playoff games, confirming his place as an important cog in the rotation.

He received recognition for his accomplishments by being named a McDonald’s All-American while still in high school. While playing for the Kentucky Wildcats in college, Vanderbilt advanced his basketball career. 

Later, in the second round of the 2018 NBA draft, he was selected by the Denver Nuggets. Regarded highly for his remarkable vertical leap and unyielding tenacity on the court, Vanderbilt is a star athlete.

He was acquired by the Los Angeles Lakers on February 9, 2023, as part of a three-team trade that also included the Minnesota Timberwolves.
