Former reality TV star and father of six, Josh Duggar, was charged with receiving and possessing pornography, has pleaded not guilty, People’s Magazine reported.
Duggar joined the hearing on a Zoom meeting from an Arkansas detention centre where he has been held after his arrest.
It is alleged that he downloaded content related to child sexual abuse, “some of which depicts the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12, in May 2019.”

In a statement, his attorneys Travis W Story, Greg Payne and Justin Gelfand said, “Josh Duggar has been charged in a two-count indictment. He has pled not guilty to both charges and we intend to defend this case aggressively and thoroughly. In this country, no one can stop prosecutors from charging a crime. But when you’re accused, you can fight back in the courtroom — and that is exactly what Josh intends to do.”
If found guilty, Duggar faces fines of $250,000 on each count and 20 years of imprisonment. The two counts he has been charged with are–receipt of child pornography and possession of child pornography, reported People.

His wife, Anna Duggar is pregnant with their seventh child.
If Duggar is given bail, he will be placed “in a residence where there’s no minor in the home,” Erin L Wiedemann, US Chief Magistrate Judge said.
