The Miami Hurricanes’ Kamren Kinchens was taken off the field following a tackle attempt during their 48-33 shock victory over No. 23 Texas A&M on Saturday.

Kinchens was hurt late in the fourth quarter at Hard Rock Stadium when he collided with an Aggies player. Both teams’ players crowded around the 20-year-old as he was attended to by medical personnel. After a considerable delay, Kinchens was eventually taken off the field.

He was injured late in the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game while attempting to tackle Aggies receiver Ainias Smith. Kinchens remained on the ground, and his teammates quickly requested medical assistance.

Kinchens was attended to by medical staff while players from both sides took a knee. Kinchens was lifted onto a stretcher and carried off the field after several minutes. He was sent to Jackson Memorial Hospital for further evaluation.

Miami coach Mario Cristobal stated that early indications indicated Kinchens was doing well. Following his postgame press conference, Cristobal said he was heading to the hospital but was optimistic about Kinchens’ condition.

Kamren Kinchens is a Miami Hurricanes junior safety. He is a Miami native who attended Miami Northwestern High School and was a four-star recruit and consensus top-100 player in the 2021 class. He redshirted his first year at Miami in 2021, although he became a starter the next year. He had a career-high 59 tackles, six interceptions, and one score, earning him first-team All-American accolades from CBS Sports.

Kamren Kinchens started the final five games of his true freshman season at Miami in 2021, tallying 44 tackles. In 2022, he returned as a starter and tied a school record with three interceptions against Georgia Tech.

He is a gifted and versatile safety with the potential to be an NFL great. He is a strong player who excels in covering and against the run. He is also an effective leader and a motivator for his teammates.
