Kisan Rath mobile app was launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to help the farmers in the transportation of foodgrains and perishable during the lockdown. The application was developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which is backed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Apart from farmers, it facilitates FPOs and traders pan India. The app connects them with the transport service providers by providing them with a wide range of trucks and tractor trolleys. The application also allows uploading the requirements of part-load as well as full-load.

The app is connected with major transport aggregators and allows individual transporters to get their vehicles registered and provide the farmers and traders with services.

After a post is uploaded on the app, it is sent to transport aggregators, individual transporters and tractor owners (under CHC scheme) registered on the app. Now, they can respond to the requirements and contact them accordingly.

The person who has put up a request can see the responses and negotiate offline with the transporters in order to finalise the deal. The app also allows rating the services once the trip is completed.

The application is available in both Android and iOS versions in select languages.
