Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians posted a mammoth 208/5 in 20 overs in Sharjah against a depleted Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling attack on Sunday. Winning the toss, and electing to bat first, Rohit Sharma, departed early in the game, as his poor form against SRH continued. However, Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar steadied the ship and motored them forward in the game.

Both Yadav and De Kock, who were dealing in boundaries, upped the ante and gave their team a good platform to post a big total. De Kock drove his team forward with his first half-century of the season as SRH bowlers were on the mat against a solid MI batting line-up.

Cameos by Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard towards the end of the end pushed MI closer to 200-run mark as SRH bowlers were trying to make a comeback. Despite Hardik’s dismissal in the last over, Krunal Pandya took the onus on him and played a scintillating four-ball unbeaten 20-run knock to help his team cross the mega mark of 200 runs.

In reply, Sunrisers Hyderabad maintained a steady run-rate in the steep run chase, courtesy of ballistic batting from Jonny Bairstow (25 off 15 balls). Soon after his dismissal, Warner changes gears and started hitting the ball around the park, with Manish Pandey later joining in on the party.

Pandey looked in great form but a mistimed shot off James Pattinson saw him perish. Warner tried holding the fort down but too many wickets falling at the other end forced him to take unnecessary risks, which resulted in him in getting out. Ishan Kishan, at short third man, dove to his right as he took a blinder to dismiss the Australian.

It was all downhill from here as MI were edging closer to a victory with each passing ball. It wasn’t far when Jasprit Bumrah bowled a fantastic 19th over, where he took two wickets, to help his team over the victory line.

For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Warner (60) scored the highest and for Mumbai Indians, Trent Boult returned with figures of 2/28 in his stipulated four overs.
