Albeit Chennai Super Kings registered a 20-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, on Tuesday night, captain MS Dhoni made it clear that the team still needs to see the errors in the game. It is also equally important to not brush anything under the carpet, said the former Indian captain.
“We need to still see where the errors were in this game and what is important is to not brush anything under the carpet just because we won the game,” Dhoni said in a post-match presentation.

Dhoni, in a KKR-style move, sent all-rounder Sam Curran to open the batting for CSK along with Faf du Plessis, who got dismissed for a duck. But Curran stayed solid in the middle and played a vital knock of 31 off 21 balls to give his team a good start. He was ably supported by Shane Watson (42 off 38 balls).
Dhoni also said that his team did a good job in all the departments. “Today I felt we did a very good job even in the batting. There was some purpose with the bat and the batsmen assessed the situation very well. With a total like 160, it all depends on the start you get in the first six overs,” Dhoni said.

“The fast bowlers did the job, the spinners came into play and it was one game that was as close to being perfect. It was a par score and I usually assess scores after the first six overs. If there are misfields in the first six overs then a par score becomes an under-par score. A lot depended on the fast bowlers. I just told them to be expressive on the field and hit their areas,” Dhoni heaped praises on his bowling department.
With this win, CSK are placed sixth in the IPL points table.
