The Clippers will face the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference semifinals beginning on Tuesday.

Less than a year ago, the Clippers had thrown away a 3-1 series lead to the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the playoffs .

Clippers star Kawhi Leonard scored 28 points. He also had 10 rebounds, nine assists, four steals and one block in a performance on both sides of the court.

It was a ding-dong battle at least up to the end of the third quarter. The Clippers went on a 19-4 run and closed the quarter with a 15 point lead.

There was no looking back for the Clippers from there. The Mavericks came close when they reduced the deficit to seven points with just over two minutes remaining but back-to-back three-pointers by Reggie Jackson and Marcus Morris sealed the deal for the Los Angeles side.
