LeBron James and his team Los Angeles Lakers are not just the kings of the National Basketball Association (NBA) but they also rule the merchandise market with the highest sales globally. But, recently they saw a staggering growth in their merchandise sales in the Southeast Asian country of the Philippines, reported philstar.

From the figures by NBA’s official merchandise website in the Philippines, the local market’s numbers mirror the sales across the world. The four-time NBA champion James and the Lakers are also topping the list of the most sold jersey in the first half of the 2020-21 NBA season. 

However, there are some striking differences in the number locally for the top 10 most popular NBA jerseys. With Luka Doncic, who is ranked second in the global list of merchandise, is ninth in the Philippines with Kyrie Irving, former Lakers player in the top 2 spots.

The top five jerseys that are selling in the country are reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, former Houston Rockets player James Harden and the Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry.

Other players who have made their place in the top 10 jerseys are Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. Harden and Westbrook with their jerseys have finally made Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards enter the list of the hot jerseys of the season.

The Lakers, the Nets, Warriors, Rockets and the Bucks are the teams most popular with the Philippines’ basketball fans.
