Taysom Hill, born August 23, 1990, is an American football quarterback and a utility player for the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League (NFL). Hill, who is listed as a backup quarterback for Saints, has also played in four offensive skill positions, including as the team’s primary gunner on punt return.
Such unique utilisation of Hill has earned him a reputation as one of the NFL’s most versatile players and the nickname “The Human Swiss Army knife” by Saints’ media. He was first seen in action in 2010 when he filled in for four games for an injured Drew Bees, who announced his retirement on March 15.
Hill went to Highland (Pocatello, Idaho) HS, where he played quarterback, punter and kicker. He also spent three years playing basketball, participating in track and field and in the 200, 4×100 relay, 4×200 relay and long jump.
During his college, Hill started in 33 of 37 games, playing five seasons at Brigham Young, finishing with 23 wins as starter. He finished his career with 6,929 yards and 43 TouchDowns.
Started all 12 games he played in as senior, finishing with 222 completions on 372 attempts for 2,323 yards, 12 TDs. As a sophomore in 2013, he started in all 13 games in his first full season as a starter, throwing for 2,938 yards and 19 TDs on 236-of-438 passing (53.9%) with 14 interceptions.
He also ran a career-high 1,344 yards and ten TDs on 246 attempts (5.5 avg.), including six 100-yard rushing games.

Hill was snatched by the New Orleans Saints off waivers from the Green Bay Packers. In 2019 Hill carried 27 times for 176 yards with one touchdown, caught 19 passes for 236 yards and six touchdowns, completed three-of-five passes for 55 yards and added two special teams tackles.
In 2017, after being claimed off waivers from the Packers, he served as the club’s third quarterback. However, he saw his playing debut on special teams in the last five games. He has also played on special teams in both postseason games. In the preseason for Green Bay, Hill completed 14-of-20 passes (70.0%) for 149 yards with two touchdowns and zero interceptions.
