Nick Chubb has a serious knee injury that is season-ending, Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed, according reporters.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said that the Browns’ star running back has multiple torn ligaments and that he will undergo tests. Chubb injured his left knee in a direct hit by Minkah Fitzpatrick, a Pittsburgh Steeler safety, in the second quarter of the Browns vs Steelers week 2 game. So horrific was the injury that broadcasters refused to show a replay.
In another top injury update, an MRI showed New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley has an “ordinary” ankle sprain and is expected to miss three weeks, said ESPN’s Senior NFL Insider, Adam Schefter, quoting sources.
On Sunday, Barkley limped off the field supported by several people in the last minutes of the game vs the Arizona Cardinals, clearly in agony. X rays ruled out the dreaded high ankle sprain and Barkley had an MRI on Monday.

In other injuries in week 2, New Orleans Saints running back Jamaal Williams suffered a hamstring injury and did not return vs the Carolina Panthers
Logan Thomas, tight end for the Washington Commanders, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson are in concussion protocol.
Detroit running back David Montgomery, who injured his leg vs Seattle and was carted off the field, is listed as questionable, with his coach saying he is day-to-day.

The Baltimore Ravens’ Odell Beckham Jr left the game vs the Bengals with an ankle injury and is questionable but expected to play in week 3, Ian Rapoport reported. Last week, the Ravens’ JK Dobbins tore his Achilles, landing on injured reserve.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow reported a tweaked calf after Sunday’s game vs the Baltimore Ravens and is listed as questionable. Burrow carried a calf injury into the season and seems to have aggravated it.
