JJ Watt, one of the biggest names in the National Football League, has officially signed on with the Arizona Cardinals for a deal that includes an assured amount of $23 million and can extend up to $31 million, according to US media reports.
With a widely celebrated record of 172 tackles for loss,101 sacks, 531 tackles and 282 quarterback hits in a span of 10 years, Watt was placed in the NFL’s 2010s All-Decade team with a unanimous vote.

After the recent signing, the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year will be lining up opposite Chandler Jones, who is about to cross the 100-sack mark. Moreover, the Arizona Cardinals is further star-studded with Haason Reddick, who secured his career record of having 12.5 sacks in 2020.
After bidding farewell to his previous Texan team, Watt notoriously dropped cryptic messages on his social media which left fans in a stir about his choice. Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers were rumoured to be the top contenders.

In the previous season, Arizona’s team finished 8-8, behind the 10-6 Rams and 12-4 Seahawks, with the 6-10 Niners bringing up the rear in the NFC West, said reports.
