Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, Test mainstay Cheteshwar Pujara and pacer Umesh Yadav have come forward to help late sports journalist Ruchir Mishra’s family. Mishra succumbed to COVID-19 related complications on May 4 in Nagpur. He was associated with the Times of India in Nagpur, where he covered domestic cricket matches.

Even popular among cricketers, Ruchir Mishra was the face of TOI’s domestic cricket coverage in Maharashtra. The likes of Wasim Jaffer and Umesh Yadav paid heartfelt condolences to his family as he passes away early in May. His death leaving the Mishra family in financial crises. Mishra left behind his wife and two children

Delhi Capitals player Ravichandran Ashwin made his contribution, and he even urged his fans to help Ruchir%u2019s family. 

However, some players took on to a fundraising website to help Mishra’s family. According to the website,  fast bowler Umesh Yadav has donated Rs 1 Lakh, while Cheteshwar Pujara contributed Rs 50,000.  fast bowler Umesh Yadav has donated one lakh INR, while his teammate About Rs 12,16,869 have been raised already as the target is set at Rs 25 Lakh.
