Pakistan legendary pace duo Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis have chosen their pick between two of the best batsmen – Sachin Tendulkar and Brain Lara. They further answered whose mind, among the players, they would like to read.
Wasim and Waqar dominated batsmen for most of their careers. However, it was in the late 1990s, when two batsmen- Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara – who put up a fight against their lethal swing.

When asked who was the better batsman, Tendulkar or Lara, Wasim and Waqar had a unanimous and prompt answer. Asked to make the choice, they said, “Brian Lara” on the Cricket Mania Show on 23News.

Akram, who is the second-highest wicket-taker in ODIs, revealed that the one player whose mind he would like to read.
“Whose mind would I want to read? I suppose for me to read someone’s mind, it has to be of some greats of the game. Maybe, Brian Charles Lara because I would want to figure how can I get him out. What is going through his head,” Akram said.
Waqar said, “It is a difficult one. We played with a lot of legends. My friend here (Wasim) is a legend of the game. I would like to be in his mind when he used to bowl.”

Waqar Younis further added that Lara is the best batter he has ever bowled to, while Akram went with former New Zealand captain Martin Crowe.
Wasim Akram finished his career with 916 international wickets (414 in Tests, 502 in ODIs). He was the first bowler to reach the 500-wicket mark in ODI cricket during the 2003 World Cup. In 2002. He took 23 four-wicket hauls in 356 ODI matches played. In 2009, he was inducted into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.
Waqar Younis took 373 Test wickets and 416 One Day International wickets during his career.
