Veteran England pacer Stuart Broad has said that he has a “good feeling” heading into the fourth day of the first Test against New Zealand, which could see England clinch the first victory of three-match Test series on Sunday.
“A win would be great, it would cap off a fantastic Test match,” the 35-year-old told reporters on Saturday.

“It’s up to us as a group of players to do everything we can to get over the line, and it would be very special, but if it doesn’t work that way we step up to the plate in Nottingham,” the fast bowler added, referring to the second Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
However, Broad went on to express his confidence about an England win, saying, “But I’ve got a really good feeling about tomorrow. Joe Root is one of the calmest, England’s best ever batsmen. [Ben Foakes] I thought settled really nicely, and then it’s going to be up to the lower order to chase these runs, so it’s set up to be a brilliant morning.”

Indeed, there’s no reason why Broad shouldn’t have a “good feeling,” with the pacer having contributed to bowling out New Zealand for 285 in the second innings.
England then went on to score 216 on the third day, with Root and Foakes making a sixth-wicket stand of 57 at close.

As it stands, England need a mere 61 runs to win the first match at the Lord’s Cricket Ground, a target that easily makes England the favourites to win the encounter.
After the conclusion of the first Test, the second Test will begin on Friday, June 10, while the third Test at Headingley in Leeds will begin on Thursday, June 23.
