India will face Australia on Monday, October 17 in their first warm-up match for the T20 World Cup at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, commonly known as the Gabba. Having lost their both pre-tournament practice games vs Western Australia, the Men in Blue will look to get back in form. 

Rohit Sharma and co play their first game of the T20 World Cup against Pakistan on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Premier pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup. One amongst Mohammed Shami or Mohammed Siraj will replace him as India address their poor death over bowling concerns.  Deepak Chahar, who was a strong contender to replace Bumrah, has been ruled of the marquee event due to a back injury.

Against Western Australia, India laboured to 132 for eight in 20 overs chasing 169.

D’Arcy Short smashed 52 off 38 balls and Nick Hobson hammered 64 off 41 balls to take Western Australia to 168 for eight in the stipulated 20 overs. R Ashwin was the pick of India’s bowlers, taking three wickets in an over.
