As India registered a historic three-wicket win in the fourth and final Test, recorded a 2-1 series win and also retained the coveted Border-Gavaskar trophy on Tuesday defeating Australia for the first time at Brisbane’s Gabba ground since 1988, Twitter was flooded with congratulatory wishes for the Indian side, however, a hilarious meme fest also began poking fun at the Aussies.

Fans of the Indian side expressed their joy with some of the most humorous jokes, memes and references they could possibly share. Most of the posts included player references such as stars of the match– Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara.

Some people also hilariously included the one reference where Pant started singing the Hindi version of the “Spiderman, Spiderman” theme song during Day 4 of the final Test and the audio from the stump mike went viral on social media.

Notably, Pant scored an unbeaten 89 to guide India past the target. Shubman Gill (91) and Pujara (56) also made significant contributions in India’s second innings.

The 328-run target seemed as high as a mountain for the visitors but it was the sheer discipline and hard work that gave India a memorable win.
