Christian Pulisic, who recently represented the USA at the FIFA World Cup 2022, attended the Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Clippers NBA game on Thursday. A basketball fan through and through, the 24-year-old had said a few years back that he considers Lebron James an idol.

The Chelsea midfielder is back home after USMNT got knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in the Round of 16 against the Netherlands. He is expected to soon be back with the English team as the Premier League resumes a week after the World Cup ends.

However, the USMNT’s star’s stint with Chelsea is being questioned, and a report by the UK-based Metro earlier said that the former Borussia Dortmund player has been asked to get a move away from Chelsea when the January transfer window opens.

Pulisic has only started three Premier League games for Chelsea in the 2022-23 season. New manager Graham Potter has not fancied the American in his starting eleven, even though Pulisic was regular in former manager Thomas Tuchel’s plans.

Along with Pulisic, Metro also reports that Arsenal backup goalie USMNT’s Matt Turner has also been asked by the club to seek a move away in this transfer window. First-choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has been performing well for the Gunner and Turney is unlikely to make it to the first team any time soon.

Brad Friedel, the former Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper and also a former USMNT star, said that Pulisic should consider leaving if he will not game regular playing time at Chelsea.

“If Chelsea aren’t picking Christian Pulisic, then I think he should move elsewhere because he’s good enough to play somewhere,” he said to Online Casino.

“I think the same of Matt Turner, he should not be sitting on Arsenal’s bench although I’m not saying Mikel Arteta should start him ahead of Aaron Ramsdale who’s started well,” Friedel said.

He believed Turner is “too good not to play football” and should find a club where he can play regularly.
