Sunday Night Football has brought a lot of records so far. Placekicker Justin Tucker of the Baltimore Ravens broke the record of the longest field goal in NFL history with a 66-yard kick in a close 19-17 win against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
The Lions, who are still winless in the league, appeared to be on the verge of their first victory of the season when Detroit kicker Ryan Santoso connected from 35 yards with just over a minute left.
However, soon after, the Ravens were facing a fourth-and-19 from their own 16 when QB Lamar Jackson completed a 36-yard pass to Sammy Watkins, and then was able to spike the ball with 7 seconds left to stop the clock.

Tucker fired a kick down the centre that struck the crossbar and rebounded between the uprights for the victory, setting off a frenzied celebration on the field by the Ravens as the Lions fell to 0-3.
The Ravens often relied on field goals in the game, and Tucker was up to the task in that matter.
Tucker, who was wide right a 49-yard field goal in the first quarter, made a 39-yard kick with 10:05 left in the first half to put them ahead 3-0. Tucker made two field goals in the third.

The Lions, as they did in a season-opening loss to San Francisco, came back to give themselves a chance to win and came up short again.
Fans took to social media to praise Tucker’s effort and also take digs at other teams, most notably the Chicago Bears.
“Justin Tucker’s field goal was 19 yards longer than the Bears offense gained today,” a user wrote.
