The game was played over a stretch of three consecutive days, starting on June 22, 2010. The game had to be temporarily suspended on days 1 and 2 due to lack of natural light. Due to this, the game spilled over into an unprecedented third day.

The electronic scoreboard installed at the stadium stopped working at a 47-47 tally in the fifth set of the match as it was only designed to record beyond the score.
