Chris Boswell is an American football player who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League. He plays the kicker position on the special teams. Boswell was undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft and was later signed by the Houston Texans.
Chris Boswell was born on March 16, 1991, in Fort Worth city in Texas, and attended the Fossil Ridge High School. Before committing to the University of Rice’s Rice Owls football team in college, he received offers from Rice, Baylor, Kansas State, North Texas, Missouri, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. He stayed at the university from 2010-2013.

NFL Career:-
The Houston Texans signed Boswell on May 10, 2014, after he went undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, but he was later released. On September 23, 2014, he was re-signed to the practice squad.
Boswell signed a reserve contract with the New York Giants on January 7, 2015. The Giants released Boswell on August 16, 2015. The Giants re-signed him on September 2, 2015. Boswell was waived on September 5, 2015, after failing to make the final 53-man roster.

On October 3, 2015, Boswell signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, becoming the team’s fourth placekicker that year. He finished his first full season by playing 12 games, 29 field goals made in 32 attempts. He finished with a 90.63% accuracy. In the following season, Boswell kicked six field goals against the Kansas City Chiefs, leading the Steelers to an 18-16 victory in the divisional playoff game.
Boswell and the Steelers agreed to an exclusive one-year contract on February 2, 2017. With 142 points, he finished the season tied for fourth in scoring with Harrison Butker. The Steelers, later, issued Boswell a restricted free agent tender in the second round which he signed thereafter. Boswell’s new five-year contract with the Steelers was signed on August 23, 2018, tying him with the team until the 2022 campaign. He had a low year in the 2018 season where he only had 13 of 20 field goal attempts and 43 of 48 extra point attempts. This was lowest among kickers who attempted at least 20 field goals where he was 65 percent field goal percentage.
Boswell recovered the next year in 2019, making 29 of 31 field goal attempts (93.5 percent) and a perfect 28 of 28 extra point attempts.
Boswell kicked a career-long 59-yard field goal against the Dallas Cowboys on November 8, 2020, setting a Steelers franchise record for the longest field goal.
