Evander Holyfield is a former professional boxer, whose historical red Everlast gloves have been sold at an auction for almost $40,000. The auction was held at Lelands Sports Memorabilia in America on September 19, 2022. Titled as an undisputed champion of boxing, Holyfield competed between 1982 and 2011.
The Real Deal wore those same gloves in the well-known match, where Mike Tyson bit his ear off in frustration and got disqualified for his misconduct.

Who is Evander Holyfield?
Evander Holyfield, a former heavyweight boxer, is popularly known as The Real Deal and The Warrior. The American boxer is the only professional fighter who broke the record of Muhammad Ali by winning the heavyweight championship four separate times.
The 59-years-old retired boxer was born in Atmore city of Alabama, United States, on October 19, 1962. Youngest among his other eight siblings, Holyfield was born to a different father. Later, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, along with his family, where he began boxing at the young age of seven. He grew up in a poverty-stricken area under Bowen Homes Housing Project.

Beginning his professional career in Light Heavyweight, Holyfield sustained a record of 160-14 and won the national Golden Gloves championship in 1984 as an amateur. His career as a heavyweight began in early 1990. He has fought with several heavyweight boxing champions like Riddick Bowe, Michael Moorer, Bobby Czyz, Lennox Lewis, and Mike Tyson. Out of 57 fights in his professional career, he won 44 and lost 10.
After becoming a household name during the peak of his career, Holyfield also made celebrity appearances in a few television shows and played minor roles in some movies like Summer of Sam, Necessary Roughness, Arthur (Remake), and Blood Savage.

Holyfield currently lives and trains in Fayette County, Georgia. He has 11 children from six different women out of which he was married to three.
Holyfield’s legendary fight with Mike Tyson became memorable due to the bizarre incident where his earlobe was bitten off and he reclaimed the WBA title. This made his red gloves an iconic symbol of that win.
