The match was won by Ghana who defeated South Korea by a 3-2 score.
Inaki
Williams is a professional footballer who made his debut in the Spain national
team in 2016 and chose to represent Ghana at this year’s World Cup, while his
brother Nico Williams will be playing for Spain.

Who is Inaki Williams?
Inaki
Williams Arthuer is a professional footballer who was born on June 15, 1994, in
Bilbao, Spain to Ghanaian parents, who reached Spain by crossing the Sahara on
foot. He has a younger brother, Niko Williams, who is playing for the Span
national team in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He
spent most of his childhood in Pamplona, where he played youth football with
the local Spanish sports club Club Deportivo Pamplona. He was spotted by
Athletic Bilbao who signed him at the age of 17. In 2013, he signed a contract
with the Basque club, which continued till 2017. He made his La Liga debut in
2014 for Bilbao and became the first black player to score for the club.

In
2015, he received his first international call-up, being named to the Spain
under-21 squad. Williams was also
listed as one of 11 standby players for Spain’s squad at the UEFA Euro 2016.
He was also coveted
by the Ghana national team. He spoke of the
possibility of playing for Ghana, saying “My parents are from Accra and I really enjoy
going. But I wasn’t born or raised there, my culture’s here, and there are
players for whom it would mean more. I don’t think it would be right to take
the place of someone who really deserves to go and who feels Ghana 100%.”

In July 2022, it was announced that he will be
playing for Ghana in the 22nd Football World Cup. He was selected for
Ghana’s final squad in Qatar. He is also nicknamed “Kweku” according
to the day on which he was born, based on a Ghanaian custom.
Williams was featured in Amazon Prime’s television
documentary series Six Dreams, recorded during the 2017–18 season.
