As Brazil looks to win their sixth FIFA World Cup in Qatar, they have some special former players in the stands cheering them on. The 2002 World Cup winners from Brazil, Cafu, Ronaldo Nazario and Roberto Carlos were spotted watching the Brazil-Switzerland match at Lushail stadium on Monday.

Seated together, one frame of the three players was enough to throw millions of Brazil fans into the nostalgia lane.

Brazil started the match well, and in spite of the first half finishing goalless for both teams, they were the better side creating the most chances. Real Madrid and Brazil forward Vinicius Jr. almost scored with a great shot near-post, but Sommers saved it.

Brazil are missing their crucial man Neymar Jr after he took a knock in Brazil’s opening match against Serbia. Manchester United midfielder Fred has replaced him in the starting lineup against Switzerland, but social media is frustrated that the team does not look the same without the PSG man.

At the start of the second half, Brazil replaced Lucas Paqueta with Ream Madrid’s midfield. The problems with the midfield were evident in the first half and Brazil struggled to knit attacks, failing to create quality chances despite dominating on the ball.

The former stars present in the stadium will be a big boost for the Brazilian team. It will remind them of the 2002 FIFA World Cup when many of the players were kids watching these legends play with the yellow shirt on.

Whether or not they can inspire a Brazil win today remains to be seen, but if they do, Brazil will go to the next round with a match to spare.
