Brazilian actor and model Isis Freitas passed away after she was rushed to hospital on Sunday. She was laid to rest on Monday at Rio de Janeiro’s Sao Francisco Xavier Cemetery.

Brazilian media reports that although the reason for her death has not been formally announced, there are claims on social media that she passed away from tuberculosis. Her company at the talent agency LMA Producoes acknowledged her passing on social media.

Her team in a post wrote, “’It is with great regret and sadness that we come to inform you of the passing of our actress and companion Isis Freitas. On behalf of the entire team of actors and staff at LMA, our sincere condolences to all her friends and family. We are united in solidarity for this irreparable loss.”

Isis Freitas was 22 years old. Freitas began her professional life as a model and then moved into acting, taking part in several stage plays. She also appeared in commercials for cosmetic companies.

Actress Larissa Manoela, influencer Lucas Neto, and soap opera star Matheus Dias were among the prominent names in Brazilian showbiz who posted condolences for the actress and model on social media. Larissa Manoela said, “I’m still shocked that you’re leaving. Young girl, incredibly charming, gifted, and loving. Isis, rest in peace! I send my sympathies to the whole family.
