Croatia beat Japan in the Round of 16 knockout match on Monday to progress into the quarter-finals of FIFA World Cup 2022. Their win did not come easy as they had to calm their nerves following a 1-1 draw and their goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic had to save three penalties in the shootout.
Domagoj Vida is a Croatian professional footballer, who played as a defender for Croatia in Monday’s match, currently plays for the Super League Greece club AEK Athens and the Croatia national team. Vida has been a mainstay of the Croatia squad for over a decade, having made his debut in 2010. Previously, Vida played for the Superlig club Beşiktaş.
