As the 20th pick this year, Picket became the first quarterback to be drafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. Pickett enters the NFL battle-hardened, with five years of experience playing for the Panthers. Particularly, his improvement since 2020 has been tremendous and bodes well for him as he takes the next step up. He has a good height and an above-average frame for a quarterback and his athleticism and arm strength provide him with the necessary tools to conjure up a sumptuous, deep, and accurate ball, especially when in rhythm. Cynics point to the size of his hands- which are notably small as a potential weak link in his game. He also has somewhat of an inconsistent timing to his throws, which he will need to iron out as he makes his way into elite football.
