Former New England Patriots’ running back champion is in headlines recently after he got arrested in Mississippi over the weekend. Ridley was reportedly booked late Saturday night on two charges in Natchez, according to the Natchez police official.

The allegations on the Patriots’ star are not made public yet. However, the record shows that he was released from custody soon after on Sunday.

Who is Stevan Ridley?

Ridley is an American footballer who played in the running back position. He was born on January 27, 1989 in Natchez, Mississippi. The running back attended Trinity Episcopal Day School in Natchez. He also played running back and linebacker for the Trinity Episcopal Saints high school football team.

Subsequently, he also played college football at LSU and was finally drafted by the New England Patriots in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He is known for helping Tom Brady win a Super Bowl in the 2014 season, while playing for the Patriots against Seattle Seahawks at Super Bowl XLIX.

He has played some iconic games in his career including his final season in college football. He reportedly scored 15 TDs for the Tigers in Baton Rouge in 2010. In his sophomore year, he rushed 45 times for 180 yards and achieved three rushing touchdowns. He also served as permanent team captains in the 2010 season of college football.

Subsequently, he recorded his biggest year in 2012 when he rushed for 1,263 yards and scored 12 TDs. Additionally, he also went on to play for the Jets, Falcons, Steelers, and Vikings. While playing for Minnesota Vikings, he sustained a season-ending injury to rookie Dalvin Cook. His last season came in 2018 where he played for Pittsburgh Steelers, totaling 29 carries for 80 rushing yards.
