Former NFL cornerback, Vontae Ottis Davis has been arrested on Saturday following a car crash on the side of the highway. Davis was found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

In a report published on Sunday morning, Davis allegedly crashed into a disabled car which then hit a person next to it. Later, Davis was reportedly found sleeping. When asked why he was sleeping, he replied, “I was tired”.  The person who Davis allegedly hit, has sustained multiple injuries and is being given medical care.

Who is Vontae Davis?

Davis is an ex-NFL player from Washington, DC, born in 1988. He played for the Miami Dolphins, Indianapolis Colts, and Buffalo Bills. Davis famously played in the cornerback position.

Davis started his career in college football at Illinois. Subsequently, he was drafted by the Dolphins in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Davis famously made it to two Pro Bowls in his career.

He has a great freshman season with a record of 30 tackles and intercepting one pass. He even received the Rookie of the Year title playing for the Fighting Illini. Davis got drafted by Miami Dolphins in 2009. He was also ranked the third-best cornerback prospect in the draft by DraftScout.com.

Davis then played for Indianapolis Colts in 2013. Moreover, he was signed by the Buffalo Bills for one year. Davis was selected for two consecutive Pro Bowls in 2014 and 2015. He defended 34 passes, combined for eight interceptions, and two forced fumbles in the two famous seasons.

Davis retired from the NFL in the 2018 season while he was playing for the Bills. Interestingly, he removed himself from the second game at halftime. He made it to the headlines once again after driving under influence on Saturday night. His bond amount is listed at $500, as per the record.
