Robert Farley, the father of Tennessee Titans cornerback Caleb Farley was killed in a massive house explosion in Mooresville, North Carolina early Tuesday. The multi-million dollar home was owned by the NFL star.

The 61-year-old was killed and another person suffered non-life-threatening injuries when the home was leveled, according to Iredell County Emergency Management Director Kent Greene. Caleb himself was not home at the time of the blast, according to Greene.

According to property records, the home, valued at just over $2 million. An investigation into the cause of the explosion is still ongoing.

Robert Farley’s body was recovered as crews were searching the debris, authorities said.

Neighbors told WJZY they heard “a loud explosion” and could get the smell of gas. “A loud boom, about five minutes to midnight,” neighbor Clay Wild said. “A gorgeous house, in all respects, I can’t believe it. [To] wake up this morning and walk out and see that is just incredible.”

Caleb has left his team and returned to North Carolina and was seen speaking to the authorities. “I think what’s important is that we do everything we can to support Caleb and his family, and do everything we can to be there for him and support him, because that’s the most important thing,” coach Mike Vrabel said.

Robert and his wife, Robin, had been married since 1987 till the latter died of breast cancer in January 2018.

“I’m just praying for Caleb,” Titans running back Derrick Henry told reporters Tuesday afternoon. “I just found out the news. I’m keeping him in our prayers. I’m praying for his family. I’m sending my condolences, we all send our condolences. It’s a tragic situation.”
