Manchester United recently completed the deal for Brazilian defensive midfielder Casemiro, which will see him leave Real Madrid for the Premier League side. However, the 30-year-old won’t be part of the squad in the upcoming game against Liverpool.

PL clubs have to finalize deals by midday of the previous working day if they want a player to be part of the upcoming game week. The deal was finalized late Friday, and United has thus missed the deadline with Casemiro.

The Brazilian has to complete his medical but Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic reported Casemiro wouldn’t arrive in time for the game against Jurgen Klopp’s side since he’s had “issues with his visa”.

Meanwhile, The Mail Sport quoted an insider saying that the United dressing room is ready to welcome Casemiro with some players seeing his arrival as a “blessing”, while others are of the opinion that “a bulldog like him was needed for some time”.

Casemiro is expected to play in Scott McTominay’s position, and United coach Erik ten Hag is likely to switch out the inconsistent Scotsman for the proven Brazilian. The Old Trafford side has been sadly lacking in the midfield and defensively, which the former Ajax manager has sought to change with a slew of transfers.

Lisandro Martinez was a fine addition, and ten Hag is expected to drop English defender Harry Maguire to play the former Ajax defender along with Casemiro’s Real Madrid teammate Raphael Varane. The central defenders will have to face the brunt of Liverpool’s attack.

Christian Eriksen has been another promising transfer and has shown some mastery in controlling the ball in the midfield. United are reportedly close to completing a deal with Ajax to bring on Antony Santos, the talented Brazilian winger, who along with Feyenoord’s Tyrell Malacia could give the English side the necessary jolt in pace to turn around a poor start to the season.
